Every year during the Super Bowl, a well-known and talented artist is asked to sing the National Anthem before the game. This year, Pink was invited to grace us with her insane talent and kick-off the game. Many were looking forward to this performance and were heartbroken to hear that she had actually come down with the flu the week of the big game.
She wrote on Instagram this week:
Trying to practice the flu away. I’ve been waiting to sing this song since 1991 when I saw my idol, Whitney Houston, own this song. And now, my chance has finally come. And it just so happens that this chance comes when I have two small Petri dish kids who literally cough INTO MY MOUTH and rub their snot on my cheek. You can’t write this stuff I swear! And here we are. I’ve arrived at another one of my dreams which is slowly becoming a sort of nightmare. I will tell you, this is one of the biggest honors of my life, singing this song in front of my family, my military family, my dad and brother and step mama and family and the world. And the EAGLES!?!?! I promise I will do my best, as I always do. As far as the gremlins that got me into this mess, you can cough at me for the rest of your lives. It was a big deal for Pink, who is actually from Philadelphia herself. Luckily, she powered through and absolutely nailed the anthem, hitting the high note like a true legend does. But, of course, there are always haters out there who need to ruin everything.
One Twitter user made a snide remark on Twitter saying she sucks. I’m sure with only 100 followers, this kid didn’t think anyone would really see his tweet–especially Pink.
But, home girl saw it and replied to it in the most savage and iconic way possible saying:

Who sucks? The self proclaimed unsuccessful performer should look at himself in the mirror prior to making an unsubstantiated statement about @pink who belted out the anthem with honor and vigor despite her flu.
