Being outraged is an understatement.
When your children receive such absurd and agitating homework from school, it’s only fair for the parents to lose their temper. And this parent’s anger is valid.
Omar Austin is that parent. He resides in Jacksonville, Florida and his daughter is a junior at Westside high school. When she got a totally ridiculous question for her anatomy homework, her father freaked out and shared it with the social media.
Solving maths or science problems can be hectic enough as it is but when you get awkward questions as this girl did, it kinda flies above your head.
And you just stand there like…
Omar had to do a double take when he found out that his 11th-grader had gotten a sexually explicit question on her anatomy homework assignment for the week practice for the upcoming exam.
His reaction is pretty clear…
This needs to be seen. [What the hell] is going on in our schools???
And finally, this is what the question read like:
Ursula was devastated when her boyfriend broke up with her after having sex. To get revenge, she had sex with his best friend the next day. Ursula had a beautiful baby girl 9 months later. Ursula has type O blood, her ex-boyfriend has AB blood and his best friend is type A blood. If her baby daddy is her ex-boyfriend, what could the possible blood types of her baby (NOT) be?
Alarming enough as it is, the question was a multiple choice one where you had to choose from an option of answers.
According to Austin:
What the heck? This is just sad…and a disgrace to our educational system.
[It’s] probably one of the most biased pieces of information I have ever read…Where the hell are our schools going?
This was a district-generated worksheet that her teacher just printed offline and it was given to the students. I want it to be acknowledged. I want it to be reviewed. And I want it to be changed. I think we can do better.

The video has had more than 35,000 views and a lot more reactions. And it’s obvious why. A revenge-sex scenario is used to teach in the school curriculum? That’s just shockingly inappropriate for anyone.
Those type of questions should be left for reality tv and soap operas, not an 11th grader’s anatomy class. The words “baby daddy” and “baby mama” being used, that’s foresight. The fact that she’s having sex with one guy, and to get revenge on this guy she has sex with his best friend the next day? I mean, that’s not something I would want to teach any student.

After he spotted the particular question, Omar immediately contacted the school principal and brought the matter to his attention.
To some extent, the incident was taken into the light, and a spokesman from the Duvall county public schools group responded through this statement:
The question was highly inappropriate and was not part of a district assessment. We are thankful to the parent who contacted the school directly to share his concerns. Immediately upon being made aware of this matter, school and district leaders began conducting a review of the situation. Appropriate and corrective action will be taken.
At least the school administration apologized for the mistake they made even though they did not commit to it being completely wrong. But they are still investigating it.
