Artist Dad Turns His Sons’ Doodles Into Stunning Anime Characters
Every parent wants to celebrate their kid’s creative talent, but for Thomas Romain, a French designer living in Tokyo, his sons’ doodles are more than just a pretty decoration to put up on the fridge.
After seeing a drawing of some one-eyed alien creature his son Itsuki came up with, Romain, who has worked on animes such as Space Dandy, Cannon Busters and Basquash, realized the monster could fit perfectly in the anime world. Slightly tweaking the original doodle, he transformed the cyclop into a professional 3D illustration, and thus, the ongoing project Father & Sons’ Design Workshop was born.
