With the heat of patriarchy and feminism burning old dictates of how a woman should live today, one woman is flaming the heat by shaking old rules of beauty and womanhood — by embracing her facial hair and showing the world how one shouldn’t be ashamed of it.

A dear friend got me this mug and I love it! 💖 I’m going to make a new video tomorrow, what should I talk about? (Nova The Bearded Babe/Facebook)
A native of Virginia Beach, Nova Galaxia, 26, is leading by example, with a full-bearded face and a mustache, after being diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) — an endocrine disorder that led to excess facial hair sprouting on her face, since she was 14.

While I’ve pretty much accepted and begun to love the beard, I’m still rather hateful towards all the other misc body hair that “women aren’t supposed to have”. But it’s natural. It’s growing in on its own and wants to be there, so I might as well learn to love it all!
We have a limited time on this earth, why should we spend it hating ourselves and trying to be what society deems “beautiful”? We don’t owe anyone our time, our tears, or our anxiety. I’d rather love myself in my own skin and be kind to others than waste time obsessing over fitting in with societal norms.

After spending years of feeling ashamed, Galaxia had been shaving since she was a teenager, in an attempt to find acceptance among her peers, at the cost of suffering years of bullying and embarrassment because of her beard.
“A boy in my class at high school pointed at my face and said I had a better beard than he probably ever would,” Galaxia was quoted as saying by DailyMail.

“By this stage, I was shaving every single day before school. It was getting really thick and I would have a panic if I ever forgot my razor at sleepovers. I’d get up early and shave, pretending I was desperate for a shower, but really I couldn’t stand to let myself be seen with a beard,” she added further.

Natural face for day 15 of #noshavenovember!
I enjoy doing makeup but certainly not every day. Makeup overall is a hobby, not a requirement for womanhood. You’re not required to do anything extra to exist and live a happy life. This goes for trans and nb folks as well!(Nova The Bearded Babe/Facebook
