These Famous Stars Quit Disney To Grab Limelight In Hollywood!

Disney has always been a talent finder and every star who has ever acted on Disney has a successful career from people who gave Mickey Muse voices to real fiction shows. But some stars made it to Hollywood after Disney gave them the platform to show their talent.

These stars even till now are remembered by their previous roles and being praised for that. Some are great singers, some actors and some with other roles to play in the mainstream.

1. Miley Cyrus

When it comes to ex stars of best Disney shows there is no way you can avoid Miley Cyrus. More than her singing she’s famous for her role in Hannah Montana. Billy Ray Cyrus, her father, also appeared on the show with her. But, after four massively successful seasons, the show came to an end in 2011. Now, she’s a great and a very successful singer whose melodies are famous not only in Hollywood but all around the globe.

2. Bella Thorne

Bella Thorne is known for starring alongside Zendaya in Disney’s Shake It Up from 2010 to 2013, after which Bella parted ways with the company. It seems like she left Disney for building her career and successfully build it too.

3. Cole Sprouse and Dylan Sprouse

If you watch Disney then you know about Suite Life of Zach and Cody and Suite Life of Deck series surely. Prior to that, they appeared on F.R.I.E.N.D.S TV series too. Cole and Dylan were those two naughty kids in the show, who screwed the hotel management from their mischiefs. They left the show because of studies and one more reason.

Apparently, the twins had pitched an idea to Disney, which was a young boy coming to the hotel and the twins mentoring him. But, Disney rejected the idea but offered the same idea again to the brothers at a later date (meaning the brothers would not get any producing credits).

4. Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas

The Sprouse brothers weren’t the only brothers to leave Disney; the Jonas brothers also left the media giant. The brothers all starred in Camp Rock and also got their own series, appropriately entitled JONAS. The show only lasted two seasons, ending in 2010. The brothers also returned for Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in 2010.

Then, in 2012, they parted ways with Disney. The Jonas Brothers ended up splitting, though. And now, we know Nick as a solo artist whose success is reaching new levels and Joe is a writer.

He starred in Even Stevens and played a mischievous child, who was always getting on his older sister’s nerves. He went through a route for becoming a musician but failed. Then he ended up acting in Hollywood blockbusters franchises like Transformers and films like Disturbia.

Remember Maddie from Suite Life of Zack and Cody? She was much older than most of the teens on this list when she got her start with Disney—she was 19 years old when she joined the show. When the show ended she didn’t leave Disney and rather joined High School Musical movies. Then in 2011, she left the channel for further acting in Fabulous Adventure.

7. Jemma-Mckenzie-Brown

If you’re a fan of the High School Musical series, you definitely know who Jemma McKenzie-Brown is. That was way back in 2008 when she was just about 14. It seemed like she had a promising acting career ahead of her. So, where’d she go? Well, she quit acting altogether (even turning down a spot in High School Musical 4, reportedly) and is now a fitness trainer at Barry’s Bootcamp.

8. Demi Lovato

She started off her Disney career in the popular movie, Camp Rock, alongside the Jonas Brothers. She was also offered the lead role in the show, Sonny with a Chance. But, Demi struggled with physical and mental health issues. Since leaving Disney, Demi has become an advocate for mental health and proved she is not a professional singer but she could sing beautifully.

9. Ross Lynch

Ross Lynch started off as a musician. His band, R5, signed with Disney’s label, Hollywood Records in 2010. Then, in 2011, he was cast in Austin & Ally, playing the role of the title male character (a teenage singer). His acting career wasn’t as successful as singing but still, it was his first rising.

10. Selena Gomez

There is no way you don’t know her as a Grammy-winning singer. Your playlist definitely has her songs on it. Selena was on Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. The show, which was about a wizard named Alex (played by Selena) and her family, aired from 2007 to 2012. At the time of the finale, Selena was 19 years old and despite (reportedly) being offered a spot in a Suite Life spin-off wanted to move on from Disney. After starring in some movies she diverted her career to singing and now here she is. Recently, she co-produced 13 Reasons Why which is trending nowadays.
