Feel the Weight and Materials
Counterfeit manufacturers often cut costs by using cheaper, lighter materials. Compare the weight with a known genuine unit if you have one. A device that feels suspiciously light is a major red flag.
Examine the Logo and Branding
Logos on fake products are frequently misaligned, poorly painted, or use a slightly different typeface. Look closely at the symmetry, spacing, and finish quality of the branding.
Test the Software and Performance
Fake smartphones, tablets, and other smart gadgets often run a modified operating system that lags, crashes, or comes pre‑loaded with unfamiliar apps. Try updating the firmware – if the update fails or the device behaves oddly, it's almost certainly not genuine.
Be Wary of Extremely Low Prices
If the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Compare the price with official retailers. A steep discount – especially from an unknown seller – often indicates a counterfeit product.
