1. What Happened To The Backyard?: When this person looked out their back window they noticed that the pond behind their house disappeared. It turned into the sky. Now they had a deck that walked into the sky instead of the water. When you look really hard you realize that this is only an optical illusion and that the water is really calm and the sky reflected vividly off of it.

2. Cotton Ball Concert: At first glance you think that this photo is of a packed concert. But when you really focus on it you see that the things you thought were people are actually cotton balls. And when you scan your eyes to the so-thought stage, it’s part of the cotton picker’s land. Now that is what we call a great optical illusion.

3. What A Big Bird: Anyone who looks at this photo will be horrified at how big these birds are compared to the cars. But don’t worry, this is just an optical illusion. The birds are actually sitting on a ledge high above the cars. This explains why the birds look huge compared to the cars which are far down below.

4. Frost On Car: When looking at the photo anyone will think it is an artistic image of earth. But the truth is that this is just a photo of frost on the hood of someone’s car. The design of the frost and the sunlight reflecting off of the hood of the car is only creating an optical illusion.

5. Joint Twin Dogs: Many people who look at this photo will be shocked and probably excited about these two dogs being conjoined. Unfortunately though, these are two separate dogs. They only formed an optical illusion due to them have the same fur and being extremely close together. Sorry to ruin anyone’s dreams of this being a reality.

6. Ice Melting Tornado: At a quick glance this photo looks like a tornado has formed right outside this person’s home. Your first thought might be to wonder why they took the time to take the photo instead of preparing for the worst. Well the reason they didn’t do this is because it is an optical illusion made by the ice melting off of the person’s roof.

7. Half Dog Log: This is a horrifying image to look at for anyone who loves dogs. But don’t worry for too long because this dog was not cut in half. The dog is the same color as the log which is behind it. The way the dog is laying down and how close it is to the log only created an optical illusion that made you think of the worst scenario.

8. Drink Bar Stools: This photo might not seem like it is an optical illusion, but it is. These are not actual bar stools they are margarita glasses with drinks in them. The way that the glasses are lined up on the table and the angle the photo was taken makes it appear like we are just looking at a row of bar stools.

9. Pies Out Of A Trunk: Reflections on windows are a sure way to know that optical illusions will happen. And that is precisely what happened in this photo. When sitting inside this cafe the reflection of the baked goods inside reflected off the window. What makes this optical illusion great is that this reflection perfectly lined up with the trunk of someone’s car.

10. Monkey Selfie: How great would it be if this monkey was taking a selfie? We know it would be awesome but sadly this is just another optical illusion. The reflection in the window makes it appear as though the girl who is actually taking a photo of the monkey is the monkey taking a selfie. Sorry for any dreams broken by this photo.

11. Eye Glasses: These glasses might appear to be funny glasses you can buy at the joke shop, but they aren’t. These are really glasses that aren’t supposed to have an image of eyeballs on them. Something in the room is reflecting onto the prescription glasses to give off the optical illusion that actual eyeballs are designed on them.

12. Sun Fire Leafs: This is one of the coolest optical illusions on this list. Anyone who looks at this photo will think that the leaves are burning, but they aren’t. The sunlight is reflecting on the ends of the leafs and making them appear to be on fire. If there was no explanation for this image there is a high chance no one would know these leafs weren’t on fire.

13. Game Poles: This photo was taken in Hawaii when the sun was shinning straight down onto the poles. Due to the direction of the sun on these poles they ended up looking like they were out of a video game. Or if they didn’t seem like that to you they looked as though they were hovering over the pavement. It was the sun that created this optical illusion.

14. Centaur: We know that centaurs don’t exist in our world today, but there is always the thought that crosses our minds when we see photos like this. The truth is, this is just a dog behind this woman who was posing for the photo with her sister. But it does look a lot like she is a centaur. Sorry if this optical illusion broke any dreams.

15. Pirate Kite: As children, and adults, we have all wanted to see a pirate ship. I’m sure for the people who take a quick glance at the photo they believe they did see a pirate ship. Unfortunately this is yet another optical illusion. The pirate ship is actually a kite flying high in the sky but due to the angle of the camera, the kite looks like a real ship.

16. Shipwreck: When taking your first glance at this photo you will automatically believe that somehow this ship ended up on top of those poles. This is another optical illusion we are afraid to say. The ship is actually further in the distance but the position of the camera when the photo was taken gives off the illusion that this ship was randomly shipwrecked.

17. Invisible Building: This may be one of the coolest optical illusions on this list. Glass is always key to a good optical illusion but nothing beats this. This building is made out of glass windows and the reflection of the sky, the fog, and everything around it reflects making it appear to be an invisible building.

18. Fire Poker: There are two different optical illusions happening in this photo. The first one is the obvious one, the griller appears to be on fire. The second is that it appears he is poking a child with a stick. Neither of these illusions are happening. The fire is coming off of the BBQ and happened to look like he is on fire. And he is actually pointing to his friend and the child is in the background, far from his reach.

19. What Is Happening?: This is one optical illusion that took a very long time for us to figure out. It looks as though this goat has a head growing out of the side of its head, but this isn’t the case. If you stare for long enough you will see that it is actually a bird that is nibbling on the goat’s ear. What a headache inducing photo.

20. UFO Cloud: At some point we have all believed in UFOs, some of us still do. So for those out there who still do, this image might get your hopes up. This isn’t actually a UFO flying in the sky. It’s actually a cloud that is shaped like what we believe UFOs are shaped like, that is creating an optical illusion.

21. Plane Leaving Earth: Getting a window seat on a plane feels like a huge success. Some people stare out there during the take off and at points during the flight. And luckily for this girl she was able to see the moment when her plane left earth. Just kidding. Though this optical illusion really looks as though her plane did escape earth.

22. Duo Goats: These goats would really be a hit at the local zoo, if they really were attached. But once again we have just been fooled into an optical illusion to believe that these goats have heads on either ends. These goats are actually sitting beside each other but the color of their fur is what makes it appear as though they are attached.

23. Giant at Beach: This is one of the optical illusion photos that will leave you spellbound for quite sometime. We have to admit that it took us a long time to figure this one out too. What makes this guy appear as a giant on this beach is that he is on a balancing rope close to the camera and high up. Phew, for a couple minutes there we thought that giants actually existed.

24. Strong Cat: Our first thought when seeing this photo was that that cat has super strength. The fact is that this image is actually turned upside down and the owner is actually holding his cat so that it walks on the ceiling. Though this is not the best optical illusion it is one that will make you sit there and think about why you believed it to begin with.
